Update: December 2009
Posted on 14 Dec 2009 by WARPIG
sounds like redundancy, but here we are again, only this time, it was a daunting task that lay in wait for the four of us. There has been offered a proposed concert, stage et all, for the original group WARPIG tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2010. This required us to "re-learn"
the songs and lyrics that we had played and recorded on the RED /WHITE album some 30+ years ago. WOW! that was an eye-opener. Needless to say the first day attempting to recreate the magic, structure and enthusiasm that we had exhibited on stage so long ago, quickly resulted in abject frustration and varying degrees of memory lapse. Day 2 was much better as parts and pieces seemed to flood back although each of us had selective cognizance of uor musical contributions. We also developed a great respect for the composers and structure involved in the creation of that original material. How we did it sometimes seemed a mystery but we did and by the final day available, the pieces of that musical mosaic began to take form and the comfort levels were certainly recognizable. There will be many more hours, days, weeks required to put a professional show together, but we are like minded in that we will rise to the challenge, and present that which was, with that which is and that which will be. Stay tuned:

WARPIG Update: Sept 19, 2008
Posted on 19 Sep 2008 by WARPIG
Once again, the re-uniting of WARPIG took place in Studio RD in May and again in July, in hopes of correcting the annoying slips of recording errors from the last session. It also brought about the realization that time and distance are no friend to musical production. Faced with a great challenge, and with the able assistance of Tom Brennand, we were able to bring most of the songs to a level that was near the comfort of completion. We put aside any new musical contributions in order to concentrate on the task at hand or face a possible Guinness record for longest attempted album release. YES ! We are as close as we can be to the final stroke of the keys (strings, drum-heads) on the long awaited “PILLAR” album. It was an intense session as details and terminologies were hammered out to the final satisfaction of the ensemble. The next step is the conversion of analog to digital which required the use of a fully functional tape machine. We tentatively plan to be in the studio again in October, to assemble the songs as agreed, the final overdubs and the final production, and except for the challenge of pressing and print issues, we should be able to present what has taken so long to complete. We also re-activated Rowdy Music, our publishing company, to control our artistic values. Here are a few shots from the studio as we worked on the annoying little things that seem to take more effort and time than the initial recording. The next update will be far more expedient, and we apologize for the long delay.

Band Update
Posted on 14 May 2007 by WARPIG
On April 19th 2007, the band was once again re-united in studio R.D. to finalize material to be released on the "Pillar of Fire" C.D., due out in the fall of 2007. Much of this was spent working with the "lost Tapes" and updated offerings. It was a pleasure to once again have Tom Brennand in the engineer's chair and the three day session (long days) ended on a very positive note. We prepared to do the final overdubs and mastering which will complete this chapter. We will be posting the new C.D. cover on the site soon.

Special thanks to new friend of Warpig Dave Buerster of California aka "Winefan" for unearthing a previously unknown tape recording of Warpig in concert before 25,000 people at Mac's Party Rock Festival in Holland Vermont 1973. Dave would accept no money for this exceptional find and went to great lengths to get it into our hands. Dave, you are one in a million! Thank you to Bill Stevens of Warpig hometown Woodstock for unearthing his vintage WARPIG photos used on our website and on our new CD. More thanks to all our friends and fans long term and new for the encouragement and support you have voiced so strongly.

Warpig Website Mission Statement
Posted on 11 Sep 2006 by WARPIG
This website is being created with respect for those of you who have heard our music and supported this band either by purchasing our recordings or attending our concerts and shows. We have always appreciated the support, the tears, the fears, the smiles and the many, many miles. As well, we look forward to contact from new fans and music collectors and to welcome you warmly.
As we recently unwound old tapes, past recordings of rehearsals, shows, and studio sessions that no-one else has ever heard (this included some band members) set aside for almost 30 years since that unpleasant ceasing of band activities, those old feelings crept back into these aging souls! Don't be too surprised to learn that the band has re-united as friends and are beginning to experiment with new material.
Warpig needed a medium to share thoughts, ideas, photos and stories tall and true, and as we go through this voyage, experience the re-discovery of our musical hearts. This website is that collecting point, and it is filled with our hopes to finish something we started together many years back, but that has so far, remained incomplete.
We welcome your stories, your band photos, your email addresses, and your visits to this website as we express our hopes of renewing more old friendships, making new contacts and getting acquainted and re-acquainted with you.
Keep the faith and be well! Rick, Dana, Ace and Texas John Bretters.
